Rocky’s Ace Hardware

Case Study – New Website Design & Development

Modernizing Rocky’s Website to Enhance User Experience and Drive Sales

We recently worked with Rocky’s Ace Hardware to overhaul their website, aiming to boost sales attributable to their online presence. The previous site, built on an outdated WordPress theme, presented numerous challenges, including difficulty in making edits, lack of responsive design, and the absence of modern web features essential for maintaining an up-to-date online presence.

During our initial consultations, the Rocky’s team articulated clear objectives for the redesign:

  1. Update the website design to create a fresh, contemporary look.
  2. Simplify customer navigation to enhance user experience.
  3. Streamline the purchasing process by integrating it seamlessly with the main Ace Hardware website.

Our collaborative efforts resulted in a modern, user-centric website that not only meets but exceeds the expectations set by Rocky’s Ace Hardware.

Our Work

  • WordPress Website Design
  • Search Engine Optimization
  • Content Writing and Content Creation

Our Goals

  • Create an effective, modernized website design
  • Increase sales attributed to website
  • Make website a resource library for customers
  • Ensure functionality and usability is improved from the previous site

The Process

We researched various e-commerce and hardware store websites to understand styles and elements that they would like to implement. We created digital and hand-drawn wireframes based on this research and the goals discussed with Rocky’s team. After iterative discussions and revisions, we finalized a wireframe to guide the development of the new homepage.

Solution

We upgraded the website to a more user-friendly WordPress theme, Divi, allowing for easier edits and more creative design possibilities. We built a test site, referencing the wireframe, and collaborated closely with Rocky’s team to review and approve each page. This ensured the new homepage and subpages met their expectations and functional requirements.

Results

Once the subpages were completed, we meticulously optimized the site for all devices to ensure consistent performance. After thorough testing and validation, we launched the new website. The result is a modern, easy-to-navigate site that effectively meets Rocky’s Ace Hardware’s goals and enhances the customer experience.
